Since black jack has been gaining so much popularity all over the world, it is very necessary to learn something about the origins of the game. Black jack was earlier known as 21. The word black jack refers to a later stage in the game that implies a total of two cards equaling 21, i.e. an ace and a 10 card. A player with this total of cards is a winner in the game unless the dealer also has the same combination.
If the dealer has the unique blackjack combination then he wins the game against all the players in the game except against those with blackjack combination. Those players having a blackjack in such a situation have a push or a tie. When the upcard of dealer is an ace, the player in the game can place a bet called insurance so that the dealer does not get a 10 card.
